it would be nice if you could pause the function display, in the event you needed to take a 5-minute break.
I was having an issue at one point and called the manufacturer. They were very helpful.
Nice heavy flywheel. The resistance curve is smooth. I'm 6'1" and the crank arms for the pedals are a very comfortable length. The handlebar and seat height are adjustable. You can also adjust the seat forward and back. I didn't bother trying to set up the display cause I don't really need it for my application (plus the manual is translated in an almost comically incoherent way).
Hooking up the phone to the screen was also really easy (samsung z flip 6) with the included USB-C cable, and I could use the touchscreen on the bike to navigate the phone interface without any additional setup.
Experienced bodybuilder, using this bike to cut for summer time, down from 250lbs to 228.5.
Set this bike up in front of a tv, zone out, and the next thing you know an hour has gone by! It’s great. Never had an at home cardio machine always had to do it at the gym- this is well worth it!
Been tracking my progress on the app which also syncs into the health / fitness app, all around getting good feedback on progress.
There's a knob between the handles and it's a backlit LED display. It's clear as day and displays how long your current session is, how far you've gone, how fast you're going, how many calories you're burning and how many watts you're expending. You can pair your phone or tablet to it using Bluetooth, it's always on so long as the bike is being used. No need to hold a button down or anything. You can pair your device and use it with the MERACH app (available on Google Play) and the Fantom Fite app, also available on Google Play. MERACH allows you to view all your details on one easy to read display but it requires registration and comes with a 180-day trial with the bike.
The kit includes two double A (AA or LR36) batteries to power the electronics. It does have a sleep timer which kicks in 3 minutes after you're done. Now, it will reset your session after about 30 seconds of no activity. If you need to get off and use the bathroom or just give your bottom a quick break before hopping back on, be aware you can't pause it and you only have a short time to continue.
There's also a knob with a red cap on the main body that allows you to adjust the tension and also acts as an emergency stop if you need to stop the flywheel suddenly. They recommend never leaving the bike until the pedals are completely halted. There's virtually ZERO NOISE with this magnetic tension model. If you live in an apartment and you have neighbors underneath you or you have it located on the second or third floor of a house, nobody can hear you when you use it. You can even adjust the feet so if it's on uneven ground, you can even it out: no rocking!
I HIGHLY recommend this bike to anyone who is looking for cardio equipment for the home. Even if you have a tiny space to inhabit. It's better, more cost effective, lighter and quieter than any treadmill. Leave the treadmill at the gym, get the MERACH exercise bike for the home. You will not regret it, believe me.
Impressed with quality considering relatively low cost. Easy to assemble since most of it is already together.
Debated on getting the cheaper friction model but very happy with the magnetic resistance. So far it's been very quiet while in use.
Only negative is the seat. Not comfortable. However to be fair it's been years since riding a bike, real or exercise, and I would hope my butt eventually gets used to it.
I did replace the seat (holy discomfort, Batman 😳) and I’m not a fan of the spikey pedals & foot cage, but all in all it’s easy to use, quiet, and doesn’t take up too much space.
• Resistance Levels: It’s challenging to determine the exact resistance level during workouts, making it hard to track progress accurately.
• Seat Comfort: The original seat is extremely uncomfortable. Despite a tag indicating the company would respond within 24 hours to seat discomfort inquiries, my three emails have gone unanswered. I had to replace the seat to continue using the bike comfortably.
• Seat Adjustments: Adjusting the seat height is cumbersome, which is problematic since two people in our household share the bike and need to adjust it multiple times per week.
If you’re considering this bike for multiple users, be prepared for potential challenges with seat adjustments and comfort.
The bike's adjustability—seat, handlebars, and resistance—adds to its overall functionality. The only drawback is the seat, which is quite narrow and firm, making extended use uncomfortable. However, after reaching out to customer support for possible alternatives, I was pleasantly surprised by the prompt and helpful response from Jessie. Jessie immediately offered to replace the seat with a wider Merach model, which was greatly appreciated.
Overall, this is an excellent stationary bike, backed by outstanding customer service.
Pairing this bike with Zwift works almost every time. If you have just started a ride it will connect right away but if you end a ride and start a new one, it seems to have trouble reconnecting.
So here is my verdict, Well made silent smooth the only issue that prevents me from giving this a 5 star is the resistance being a little finicky, other than that the app will serve its purpose and it integrates well with KINOMAP.
In my opinion, all other gimmicks are not worth the cost at least for me if you are looking for something to get yourself moving you don't need more than this trust me, all this sub based applications and screens are just to make you long for something you probably didn't know existed, let alone need, and will probably end up not using. this checks all the boxes except one I would have really preferred the variable auto resistance on the higher model but unfortunately they do not ship to the UAE.
I've ridden it several times, around 40 miles or so. It is very quiet as most have stated. However, mine has a slight rubbing sound that comes and goes. It seems dependent on what resistance level is set.
Pros:
*foldability
*position of the resistance bands. They work well and retract very nicely to the frame of the bike when not in use
*resistance knob is very well positioned; very easy to get to beneath the retracted resistance bands
*very stable. I'm 255 lbs. it remains stationary throughout my pedaling at various resistance levels.
*bluetooth works very well with app
Cons: (note of these are not deal breakers, just 'be nice' category)
*acceptable height. I'm just under 6'1" and find I can't get the seat up high enough to get better extension of my legs. It is acceptable and works fine, just not the extension I would like as I get on my ebike.
*display is not backlite and the numbers are not illuminated. it would be nice if either one of these were present, the numbers are well displayed though
*although foldable, I dislike having to screw in and unscrew the knob to fold and unfold the bike. I've had other stationary bikes where you simply pull out the knob adjust as desired and let the knob slip back into place, it being spring loaded. This bike's method is ok once you get used to it; just be nice to simply pull the knob out and let it slide back in once the adjustment is as desired.
*wheels for moving around - it has them, however, you really have to lower the bike quite a bit for them to roll smoothly thus making it harder to move into compact areas when the bike is upright.
*no battery backup - although I haven't confirmed this yet being I just installed the batteries, based on what the manual says, the odometer will reset with a replacement of the 2 batteries to activate the display. A previous stationary bike I had contained a small (CR2032 if I remember correctly) that retained the odometer setting. Thus, every time you replace the batteries, the odometer will revert back to a '0' reading.
Merach app - It installed easily on my android tablet. With bluetooth active on the tablet, the app connected to the bike with no issues. On subsequent uses, it connected with no issues or need to try and reconnect. In the 'free training' mode, all display items worked great except resistance. I contacted Merach. Since the bike sets the resistance manually, this value will not be displayed. If you have one of the bikes where resistance is automatically set, then this value will be displayed. The one value I would have liked displayed in the 'free training' mode is speed which is missing. Not a big deal, just be nice. If you connect the bike to the app, then the physical display will be bypassed. If the app is not used, then the physical display will work normally.
I only tried the online riding courses once. It worked fine. Showed nice display of path in the country. It was fun to use.
I would recommend this bike with no reservations. I only gave it a 4 star rating because of the cons above which again are not deal breakers, just things that I didn't like.
